Welcome!

One of the most serious public health concerns facing our nation today is the childhood obesity epidemic. Evidence indicates that overweight children are at a higher risk of developing chronic diseases such as type II diabetes and hypertension, which may compromise their quality of life in adulthood. With one in five Utah elementary school children being classified as either overweight or obese, it is critical that they are encouraged to participate in physical activity to reduce their likelihood of preventable health complications.

Track-It SLC aims to increase the amount of physical activity children engage in by providing caregivers with diverse walking routes and associated distances for recreational attractions throughout Salt Lake.

We encourage everyone to share their walking experiences in Salt Lake, request distances for new locations, and become integrated with a network of caregivers united to increase the amount of physical activity that they and their children participate in.
